Nathan Ilett

I am a second-year student at the University of Kent, studying for a History BA, with my focus being on 20th century political, military and economic history.

The main reason I wanted to get involved with the Age of Revolutions project was due to my interest in the American and French Revolutions and the Napoleonic War. Getting involved with the project has allowed me to explore these events as well as their wider historical context and their effects.

One of the ways the project enabled me to do this was through a trip to the Waterloo battlefield, and associated museums in January 2018.

As part of the project I will be involved with Peterloo 2019, working on the Peterloo Witness Database which will involve digitally uploading witness statements from the Peterloo Massacre.

I have enjoyed my time with the Age of Revolutions Project and look forward to continue participating in the project.
