Sections along the A2 between Brenley Corner (where the road meets the M2) and Wincheap (for the A28) will be rebuilt, which will involve nine weekend closures of the coastbound carriageway.
The coastbound carriageway will be fully closed from 8pm each Friday until 6am each Monday from 3 October to 1 December; weather permitting.
A signed diversion will be in place via the A299 and A256 during the closures. For visitors to the University of Kent the diversion is:
- Take the exit for Whitstable /B2205/Canterbury/A290
- Go through 1 roundabout
- At the next roundabout take 3rd exit onto A290
- Continue on A290 for 4 miles
- Turn left onto University Road, postcode CT2 7LZ
As this is one of the main diversions given by the Highway Agency, please ensure you give plenty of time for travel as there are expected delays.
