Presented by Ben Watson OPERA Project, Student Support and Wellbeing, this session is aimed at staff who are involved in supporting students in their learning, all staff are welcome to attend.
The session will consider the collateral benefits of making learning and teaching inclusive. The session will look at tools and strategies to help you mainstream accessibility and improve the experience for all. From module design to delivery we will consider simple adjustments to everyday practices that will future proof modules and reduce the administrative impact of Inclusive Learning Plan (ILP) adjustments.
The session will be both practical and theoretical (mainly practical) with attendees asked to bring mobile devices to actively experience tools and techniques that they can use to improve access to learning and that can also be assimilated into work-based routines to improves productivity and save time.
The focus on using technology will be particularly helpful for addressing new National Student Survey questions around student support and access to technology.
