Employing a student? You could be eligible for some match-funding through the Work-Study Scheme

The Careers & Employability Service (CES) has been awarded some funding by the Student Project Grant Fund, to help increase the number of Work-Study roles across campus.

Since October 2014, the Work-Study Scheme has assisted 118 students in gaining campus-based roles, which have allowed students to experience realistic, meaningful paid positions, whilst undertaking employability skills training sessions and being mentored and supported throughout the application and interview process.

The funding allows CES to match-fund schools and departments who advertise paid roles for
students this academic year. For example, if a student is employed to work 10 hours at £7.65 per hour (£76.50), we could match-fund this and pay half the amount (£38.25).

There are 5 lots of funding available, to be distributed amongst:

  • Humanities faculty
  • Social Science faculty
  • Science faculty
  • Medway campus
  • Professional Services

Do you have a role that could be filled by a Work-Study student? Are you considering recruiting
