Saxon Shore Way art exhibition

The second installation in the new Colyer-Fergusson gallery is an exploration of the ancient Saxon Shore Way by Canterbury collective, Earthbound Women.

Five female artists respond to Kent’s historic shoreline in the second exhibition inspired by ‘Tokaido Road: a journey after Hiroshige’ which comes to the Gulbenkian on Saturday 23 May. The new exhibition, in mixed media forms, is described as ‘a palimpsest…modern observations written over the ancient history of the Kent coast,’ including scenes at Reculver, Faversham, Oare and Gravesend.

Admission to the exhibition is free, open during normal hours, and the installation runs until 24 May. Find out more here: http://blogs.kent.ac.uk/music-matters/2015/05/11/powerful-new-exhibition-in-colyer-fergusson-gallery-earthbound-women/

Participants needed for eyewitness study

Benny Ogidan is looking to recruit participants for a fun experiment which lasts about 30-40 minutes. He can fit times around you (lunchtimes etc).

In the experiment you’ll be asked to remember a face (Benny will send you a photo 2 days beforehand). Then you’ll be asked to come up to the lab at Keynes to work with him to make a facial composite of the face you saw. He will be using computerised softwares called PROfit and Evo-Fit which are used by the police to construct composites.

Full instructions will be provided at every stage of the experiment and you can even drink tea/coffee and eat chocolate while you’re doing it!

If you would like to take part please email Benny Ogidan.
