Vice-Chancellor’s Cup – volleyball and rowing

February has been a busy month for the Vice-Chancellor’s Cup competitors, with the three day volleyball event and a new event for this year’s schedule, rowing.

Volleyball Results
A fantastic turn-out for the volleyball saw over 85 University staff participants each day during the tournament. Well done to every person for getting involved!

Congratulations must go to DEV-ICE (Development Office & Innovation and Enterprise) and Office Politics (School of Politics and IR) for their joint second place finish. A shout out also to last year’s victors, Nobody does it bEDA (School of Engineering & Digital Arts), for finishing in 1st place and remaining the only team unbeaten.

Rowing Results
Rowing is a new event this year and the teams reveled in the chance to get on a rower and battle to be the fastest of them all.

Congratulations to Ken’t Play Sport (Kent Sport) for entering the fastest female and Eat My Shorts (Enrollment Management Services) for the fastest male time. Points were allocated by adding up the male and female time, and with this in mind, well done to new department Flabacus (School of Maths, Statistics and Actuarial Science) for taking bronze, Eat My Shorts for silver and Kent Play Sport for gold.

Netball
Up next is the women’s netball on 6, 7 and 9 March. Join in or come and support your departmental staff teams at the Sports Centre, 13.00-14.00; and if you can’t make it to the Sports Centre Like UniKentSports on Facebook for notification of live video coverage.
