Former Kent employee publishes latest novel

Former University employee and Whitstable author Janet Pywell has just published her second crime thriller Masterpiece.

Janet has self-published four books including The Golden Icon, Red Shoes and Ellie Bravo. In her previous careers, she worked in the travel and tourism industry in Spain and was also director of her own marketing company for ten years.

Her latest thriller, Masterpiece is a gripping novel set in London, Dresden and Mallorca. She has also edited and published two books of 100-word stories written by 7-11 year old students from St Stephen’s School in Canterbury as well as a book of poetry written by school children throughout the UK for the charity Seeds for Africa based at the University of Kent.

She is currently working on her next crime thriller – THE BOOK OF HOURS – due to be published in 2017.

On 20 April, Janet will be a guest speaker at the ‘Meet the Author’ event at the Grand Hotel in Folkestone where Agatha Christie wrote Murder on the Orient Express. She will be talking about the challenges and excitement of self-publishing and the opportunities for an author in today’s multi-media society.
