Electrical shutdown – 13 September

There will be an across campus electrical shut down in order to revert back to our site electrical supply, this will last four hours. Commencing at 10.00 and finishing at approximately 14.00.

The following buildings will be supplied with a temporary generator: Ingram, Stacey, Rutherford, Eliot, Darwin, Darwin Houses, Becket Court and the Library.

There will be 30 minute duration where there will be no power in these buildings whilst we divert supplies to the generator and then another 30 minutes when we divert back to the main supply. This will affect the water supply as well as the electrical supply during this period.

There will be tea and coffee in Rutherford Dining Hall from 10.00-14.00 for Woolf students.

All buildings will be affected EXCEPT the following: Keynes, Keynes 2, Turing, Oaks Study Hub, Woodlands, Belmont, Oaks Nursery, Tanglewood, Highlands, Hilltops, Rothford, Careers, Olive Cottages.

The work will be carried out by SSE and MEM Generation.

We would request that all pcs be unplugged prior to the shutdown, this should reduce the amount of disruption on Monday morning. Whilst the power is off there will be a lack of water pressure, we would also ask that taps are not left in the on position.

We apologise for inconvenience caused, if you have any queries please contact the Estates Helpdesk on ext 3209.
