This workshop is a chance for you to experience some of the exercises and tasks you would face in an Assessment Centre that many graduate employers run as part of their recruitment process.
- You will have the chance to do some informal networking

During the workshop you will be observed and then given feedback to help you develop your skills and prepare you for the live ones.

Gradcracker is the UK’s careers website for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) students. It has more STEM employers, work placements and graduate roles than any other careers website – and it also provides a wide range of resources, tools, and advice on careers in STEM.
In this webinar, Gradcracker Director Jessica is going to talk us through the website and its features to help you become a successful job hunter and navigator of the application process.
Jessica will cover the important steps to minimise rejection and how to increase your chances of success, and the several ways you can do this. The webinar is also a great opportunity to discover STEM employers and the different industry sectors a STEM Graduate can work in.

Come along and join us at KentCOG every other Wednesday from 12:30pm-2pm. You will meet fellow students, learn new skills and get the most out of gardening, socialising and wellbeing opportunities. We also aim to run workshops supporting the local wildlife.
Please wear sturdy footwear, bring waterproofs (always be prepared for the wet weather!) There is shelter in the potting shed and also in the polytunnels.
All tools will be provided.

Study Plus Inclusive organisations: What is Intersectionality? By Sal Pearman, 10:00-12:30, Online
Intersectionality is a term created by Kimberlé Crenshaw over 30 years ago to describe how race, class, gender, and other identity markers “intersect” with one another and overlap.
In this half-day workshop, we will firstly spend time understanding what Crenshaw meant by the term ‘intersectionality’ – a term created by a Black woman to explore gender and race. Then we will spend time reflecting and discussing what intersectional thinking would look like for us. And how that might shape our planning, decision making, leading, and harm reduction.
Over the half-day workshop, we will cover:
- Who is Kimberlé Crenshaw and what is intersectionality?
- Context is key: understanding the origins of the term
- What does intersectional thinking look like?
- How we can apply intersectionality to anti-oppression and inclusion work

What are reasonable adjustments, and should I request them? Telling an employer about your disability is a personal choice, but there are benefits to doing so – one of these is asking for reasonable adjustments to enable to bring your whole, best self to work.
This session will give you some ideas of different adjustments you may benefit from, and how and when to speak to an employer about them.

This session is about how to deal with things going wrong at work. It includes:

- Crying in the loos and other hideous realities (and why frustration is not the same as failure)

It is well known that litter breeds litter; people are generally less likely to drop litter in an area that is clean. The first and most effective method of prevention, therefore, is setting the example in your community taking part in a Clean Up Litter Pick.

Choosing between the LPC and the SQE, 11:00-12:00, Online
Please note that this is mainly a discussion session – a chance for you to ask questions and seek clarification.
We’ll start with a refresher / an overview of the differences between the LPC and the SQE and bring you up to date with the latest news about the SQE including how the first set of examinations went. The main focus, however, will be an open Q&A. If you are still not sure which qualification is right for you or need clarification about anything please come along.
The session will be led by Jayne Instone, Senior Careers Adviser with a specialism in Law. Jayne has been keeping up to date with the SQE news. Whilst she may not know all of the answers, she will know how to find them! See you there.

- The Adobe Digital Edge Awards,
an industry-recognised award, which credits the best student examples of digital literacy in the country. This is a fantastic opportunity for students who are applying to placement or grad roles, to demonstrate desirable employability skills such as creative thinking and communication.
From engineering to geography, business to architecture, the Digital Edge Awards are open to all UK university students. To enter, students should submit coursework where they’ve showcased digital literacy skills – that’s work that shows off creative problem solving, critical thinking and visual communication! The awards are judged by a panel of experts, including
the founder of RateMyPlacement, Oliver Sidwell!
As well as the opportunity to receive an accolade for their CV, two winners will receive a £9,250 cash prize, alongside six runner-up prizes of £1,000!

- National Film and Television School – Creative Careers Clinics -FINAL SESSION
These sessions will offer current undergraduate students insight into how they can establish a career in the film, television or games industry after their degree, how their skills are adaptable and what potential career pathways are available to them.

Cinematography is an essential part of filmmaking – visual storytelling is emphasised alongside the art of creating mood and evoking emotion through the right combination of composition and lighting. Join the NFTS to learn about cinematography within the film and television industry and to find out more about this exciting and creative career path.
This session would be suitable for undergraduates currently studying relevant courses including photography, filmmaking, documentary, film studies and photojournalism.

The Slaughter and May Innovation Competition is an exciting opportunity for law and non-law students to develop their creative thinking skills by considering what the future might look like for the legal sector and what the next big disruption might be.
Applicants are asked to submit a response, in any format they deem appropriate (for example video, podcast, blog post), to one of two set questions by 4 April 2022 for a chance to win £1,000 cash prize and a work placement within the Knowledge & Innovation team at Slaughter and May. The applicants who come in second and third place will win £500 and £250 respectively.
