On Wednesday, Kent alumni working in multi-lateral organisations such as the United Nations, NATO and the World Economic Forum discussed how they developed their careers and shared their top tips for breaking into the sector. - Working in Think Tanks – is it for me? Wednesday 23rd February 4pm
An external event hosted by a group of think tanks and similar organisations aiming to demystify the world of think tanks. There will be an introductory session giving a broad overview of the sector, followed by a series of short panels focusing on specific topics. This is a Royal Economics Society sponsored event for undergraduates interested in working in the sector.

Applications now open for NatWest Insight Weeks for Women. This is a great way to learn more about NatWest and a career in banking; network with colleagues to hear about their experience and get a feel for the culture. The programme will run over four days from 30th August to 2nd September 2022.

Find out what commercial awareness is, how employers test for it during the recruitment process, how to make yourself more commercially aware and some useful techniques to help you demonstrate this.

Wednesday February 16th
Study Plus: First Aid with the Red Cross – 11:30 – 13:30
This 2 hour event will cover such things as CPR, recovery position, choking. It will also cover how to spot two or three medical conditions such as stroke, seizure and heart attack.
This interactive workshop will discuss how to tackle basic interview questions, such as motivational questions, the trickier ones, including competency based and the unusual questions!

Accenture Graduate Schemes – Cyber Security on 22nd February
Accenture are looking for female-identifying STEM students graduating in 2022 for their Technology Architecture, Software Engineering Graduate and Cyber Security Graduate programmes. They’re running a series of Empowering Female Future events for students interested in finding out more about life at Accenture, and applying to their programmes.
- Cyber Security: a chance todesign, build and implement pragmatic security solutions this scheme is for female identifying students studying a degree in Cyber systems, Information Security, Engineering, Computer Science or a STEM degree with information security subjects or relevant work experience. To apply, students must complete the relevant 5-minute application form above. If their application is approved, they will be invited to complete a short online assessment.
Following this, successful candidates will be invited to attend the Cyber Security event on 22nd February.
At the online session students will hear from female technology leaders and graduates at Accenture, learn about the roles on offer, the application process, and the amazing technologies Accenture work with. There will also be plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
Students will then be able to progress through the Accenture Graduate Programme application process for the scheme.

The Slaughter and May Innovation Competition is an exciting opportunity for law and non-law students to develop their creative thinking skills by considering what the future might look like for the legal sector and what the next big disruption might be.
Applicants are asked to submit a response, in any format they deem appropriate (for example video, podcast, blog post), to one of two set questions by 4 April 2022 for a chance to win £1,000 cash prize and a work placement within the Knowledge & Innovation team at Slaughter and May. The applicants who come in second and third place will win £500 and £250 respectively.

How can law firms innovate to ensure that environment, social and governance (ESG) goals are met internally and for their clients?
OR
What can law firms do to help individuals maintain and develop personal relationships in the hybrid/virtual world of work?
