Gain experience working alongside clinical psychologists

Are you interested in gaining experience working alongside mental health clinicians, including clinical psychologists?

Would you like to take advantage of a volunteering opportunity to help support the promotion of staff mental health and wellbeing?

Can you commit to helping out on various weekdays, early evenings and weekends?

If you can, this could be the right challenge for you!

The Kent and Medway Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing service provides psychological support across the county for health and social care staff, volunteers and those organisations providing care to others in the community, including care homes.

The service is free, and it’s available without the need to see a GP.

Excitingly, we’re entering into a unique partnership with the Project Wingman charity, enabling us to take our service on a tour of the county using a specially adapted double decker bus!

The tour starts on 21 March 2022 and will run for 14 weeks.   The bus will be visiting all 7 acute hospital sites, as well as the 3 mental health hospital sites.

We’ll have clinicians on board to help provide screening using psychological questionnaires, and there’ll also be information on self-help, as well as the opportunity to book future appointments with clinicians.

Refreshments will be served, and provided, throughout the day.

If you’re up for the challenge and you’d like to find out more please contact Dr Lona Lockerbie, Consultant Clinical and Forensic Psychologist at lona.lockerbie@nhs.net
