The all-staff EDI Workshop, ‘Valuing Everyone: Building and Maintaining an Inclusive Culture’ is being rolled out across the University, following pilot workshops in the spring.
The workshop focuses on the benefits of building and sustaining an inclusive culture at Kent and connects directly with other initiatives that encourage the development of mutual respect, shared values, and collaborative working with the goal of positively influencing staff engagement and organisational performance.
To date, a total 492 members of staff across 12 schools/departments have participated, and a range of themes for further development within the teams have emerged, including:
- Career Development
- Collegiality
- Communication
- Appreciation of Diversity
- The importance of the work environment
Further workshops will be offered across 2014/15, and the Learning & Development and Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity teams will be contacting heads of schools and departments across the coming months to discuss the workshops and allocate suitable time slots.
