A new review team needs your help to make assessment and feedback at Kent the best that it can be.
Our students are telling us that assessment and feedback is an area where we need to improve, review our current practice and become more innovative. We would like you to come and talk to the review team and share your thoughts and ideas.
The team are holding consultation events on 2/3 March 2017 and would love to hear more about the innovative practice currently underway at Kent and also ideas from other places you may have worked or from your networks of colleagues at other institutions.

We have suggested attendance groups for each meeting above to allow some themes to be explored, but we want to include as many people and perspectives as possible – so if you can’t make it to ‘your’ meeting, please come to another one when you are free. We really would like to meet you, but if it isn’t possible to come to any of our sessions, please email afreview@kent.ac.uk with your ideas.
The team are happy to consider any element of the assessment and feedback process, from the method and timing of assessments to the quality, quantity and timeliness of feedback. We want to know what obstacles there might be to better quality and more innovation, and what the University can do to provide support.
Student events are also being held over these two days and Kent Union are helping collect more feedback and ideas using their Digital Rep platform.
The team is part of the Academic Audit Committee and is led by Prof April McMahon, Deputy-Vice-Chancellor. It also includes Prof Sue Rigby, Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Lincoln, TEF main panel member, and Chair of HEFCE’s learning gain programme.
The team will be reporting on their research and recommendations to the Academic Audit Committee and to Education Board in May.
