Data intelligence handling summer placement for 6 weeks

Purpose of the Role

Kent County Council provides a wide range of services to Kent residents and has a range of statutory responsibilities to fulfil.  Due to the scale and size of Kent, analysis work is undertaken to support the numerous projects that are being undertaken by the Authority.

This project follows on from work completed by a student last summer, to develop and transform intelligence held within the Authority, to provide an actionable intelligence package to led and support the project team.

Qualifications: 

  • ECDL training

Skills and abilities:

Minimum:

  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of people
  • Computer independence

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the National Intelligence Model, intelligence gathering and analytical techniques.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the restriction and best practice concerning intelligence sharing.

Knowledge:

  • Good understanding of databases, how they work, and be able to interpret their output.

Due to the sensitive nature of the intelligence and systems that will be accessed as part of this project, the successful candidate will need to be vetted by Kent Police to NPPV Level 2. There is no charge for this. The process takes between 6-8 weeks and must be passed before the placement commences. However, all applications will be accepted, and Intel realise that the timescales are flexible with the start date. The successful candidate will not be able to start until vetting has been received anyway.
