As much as we want to stay optimistic, focussed, and productive, it can be very easy to slip into negative patterns of thinking. To ask, “Am I good enough?”, “Can I do this?”, “Am I a fake?” With the huge impact of a more digital and global community it’s easy to feel less capable, less confident, and perhaps less worthy than our peers.

This half-day workshop will demystify the truth behind Imposter Syndrome and will provide practical tools and techniques to accurately understand, communicate and celebrate our abilities.

The move from university to work is a huge shift in culture, expectations and measures of success. This session is about starting out in work. The session covers:

People generally know the importance/benefits of setting goals but most people do not know how to do so effectively. Others might describe goal setting a little like marmite – they either “love it or hate it”.

This interactive 90-minute workshop is for you wherever you are on the spectrum. If you love goal setting and want to upskill and learn more this is for you. However, if you have given up on goal setting because it hasn’t worked for you in the past or you just don’t know the benefits of it, this workshop is for you too.

Research shows that journal writing has extensive health and wellbeing benefits, as well as being an effective way to help you plan the life you want. This workshop can help with situations as varied as gaining confidence in writing, exploring personal challenges or keeping organised.

This workshop explores a variety of techniques that you can take away and use immediately, designed to support self-care, creativity and life management skills. A variety of practical exercises and readings will be provided. It is suitable for all standards of writing.

Participants will not have to share their work in the group unless they would like to.

an industry-recognised award, which credits the best student examples of digital literacy in the country. This is a fantastic opportunity for students who are applying to placement or grad roles, to demonstrate desirable employability skills such as creative thinking and communication.

Legal Cheek is hiring a junior virtual events coordinator to join our growing team.

The role can be done from anywhere in the UK. You’ll be working from 9-5:30 (37.5 hours per week), with a video meeting with the rest of the Legal Cheek team at the beginning and the end of each day, as well as regular contact with the team through Slack.

You’ll be part of a team managing, coordinating and administering our busy programme of virtual student events and law fairs.

Duties include processing event applications; corresponding with attendees; liaising with law firms, law schools and partner organisations about event logistics; and assisting at virtual events.
Qualities that we are looking for:

  • Very well-organised
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Conscientious
  • Good time-management and ability to multi-task
  • Experience of holding positions of responsibility
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) and friendly manner
  • Social media savvy
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Willing to muck in as part of a team

A legal background is not essential but the role would suit a recent law graduate interested in either pursuing a career in events, or looking to gain experience of the legal industry before securing or starting a training contract. For the right candidate there will be opportunities to progress and take on more responsibility.

The starting salary for this position is £20,000, with a homeworking allowance. You will be provided with a company laptop.
