The Challenge is the UK’s largest social integration charity and a major provider of the National Citizen Service (NCS) programme. During summer 2019 it is offering 4,000 paid mentor, leader and facilitator positions to work on the NCS programme across the UK .
Working on NCS, students will have the chance to develop transferable skills such as leadership, professionalism, responsibility and prioritisation.
What is NCS?
- NCS is a three-week programme for young people aged 15-17, which aims to enhance social integration by bringing together young people from different backgrounds.
- During the programme, participants get involved in various outdoor activities, learn public speaking, creative and entrepreneurial skills
- The young people then use these skills to engage with the community and set up their own social action project
