The POLIR Society is bringing alumni back to university. Hear from a panel of 4 alumni speakers who will share the secrets of their career success. You will gain first-hand information and practical advice on various careers paths. Our alumni are able to share invaluable information through open, honest dialogue with the students who attend.
At this event, we aim to highlight unique career possibilities that exist for School of Politics degree holders, helping you envision possibilities for yourself you may never have considered.

Kami Asamani
As Head of Business Management for Arts Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) our team works in 19 countries in West, Southern and East Africa and the UK to create opportunities and connections for young creatives. My role is to clarify our targets, monitor our progress towards them and shape the governance of our work.
Leo Wilkinson
Currently policy advisor to Sandro Gozi MEP in the European Parliament, I work on constitutional affairs, EU political parties, EU budget and regional policy. I have also been a trainee in the European Commission’s Spokesperson Service.
Emma Booth
I currently work at Serco and I am seconded into the Ministry of Defence to support them with their external engagement. I previously worked at the Cabinet Office leading on ministerial engagement. I have also worked in public affairs for Defence and Aerospace companies, as well as in UK Parliament. Whilst at the University of Kent, I was Chair of Kent Labour Students and the Social Sciences Faculty Rep.
Emma Lagerstedt
I graduated in 2019 with a degree in Politics and International Relations with a year abroad at the University of California, Los Angeles. I am currently on my second year of the Policy, Advocacy and Government Affairs (PAGA) graduate scheme at Bristol Myers Squibb, a global pharmaceutical company. In my day-to-day I work within a team to engage with national stakeholders to inform health policy, which can include working on policy reports, feeding into consultations and organising meetings with key stakeholders. We also lead on relationships with patient advocacy groups and work with them to amplify the patient voice within the company and externally.
