The Careers and Employability Service, along with academic schools are bringing you this 3 week employability event which includes the Medway Employability Fair, Work and Study Abroad Fair, Careers Fair, Kent Opportunities Fair, employability guest speakers, workshops, networking event and much more! The conference showcases a select list of female entrepreneurs across Kent and the UK who will present their secrets of success and how you can become a high-profile business person.

Volunteering:

Kent Wildlife Trust Volunteer Taster Day – 21/10/2015 (Kent Union Student Activities)

Taking place at the new Conningbrook Lakes Country Park in Ashford, Kent Wildlife Trust are hosting a volunteer taster day packed full of activites Try your hand at wildlife gardening, lakeside coppicing, species monitoring and event livestock checking! Hear experiences from a Kent Wildlife Trust volunteer and find out the benefits you can gain from volunteering. You can also learn about health and well- being with a fun workshop by Kent County Council – encouraging a lifestyle of healthy living. Lunch and transport will be provided. Please meet at the Student Activities Centre at 9.15am. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing.

 

Wildwood Community Day – Flood & Woodland Project (Kent Union Student Activities)

Come and take part in Wildwood’s Community day on Friday 16th October. This will include raking and digging out fallen leaves which have clogged up the drainage ditches before the winter months approach. The work is part of their flood and woodland management plans. The areas that need cleaning are surrounding the bear, fox and beaver enclosures. Please see their Facebook page for more information https://www.facebook.com/thewildwoodtrust Anyone (Aged over 18) is welcome to join us, please be aware that it will be messy work, wellington boots are a must and please wear old clothing you dont mind getting dirty!

 

Litter Pick – 9th October 2015 (Kent Union Student Activities)

This session is based on campus and is to help to keep your campus clean and tidy. Working in groups we will collect litter and rubbish around campus. Develop team working skills, make a positive contribution to your university community and help improve the environment of campus. This opportunity can count towards your volunteering hours for the KSCV awards.
