B:KEW – unpaid work bursaries available

The Careers and Employability Service still has a limited number of B:KEW bursaries available to students undertaking unpaid work experience. These bursaries help towards the cost of travel during the first three weeks of your work experience. This academic year students have undertaken a variety of experiences in fields such as journalism, finance, arts, teaching, charity, law, heritage, health and arts.

Benefit – Experience Forum Theatre at the Gulbenkian: (Interesting watch for Social Science students)

Three interwoven stories unlock the frustrations and passions of characters struggling with their bank balances, their addictions, their histories and their own sense of self. A coup in a country half a century ago, a disability leaves a person isolated, and a sex addiction that’s destroying a relationship link three characters in a carefully crafted story about lives and loves and the social systems they have come to depend upon.

This production uses Forum Theatre, a type of interactive theatre which empowers the audience to change the action that plays out in front of them. You will have the chance to debate, disagree and even participate with the production.

Kent Union – 4 x students required to deliver “stand out” sessions:

Successful candidates will attend “Train to Train” training and be offered support with personal and professional development as well as having something really valuable to include on their CV.

Students will be required to lead, report on and evaluate one of the following areas as well as delivering specific sessions –

  • Session management/ development – preparing resources and documentation for sessions, making amendments as necessary to content
  • Evaluation of sessions –both qualitative and quantitative
  • Marketing and promotion of stand out programme (including social media)
  • Project management of programme – setting dates, stakeholder liaison etc
