What is the Vice Chancellor’s Cup?

For anyone who hasn’t heard of the Vice Chancellor’s Cup, this is an annual inter-departmental competition, for all University of Kent staff, which encompasses a series of mini-tournaments, from walking netball, bench ball and rounders, to board games and garden games. All departments/individuals and abilities are welcome. Departmental teams are encouraged to participate in each event. The events are typically around one hour long and mostly take place during lunch hours. To find out more about the VC’s Cup, the events played and the results of the last tournament, check out the VC’s Cup Highlights and results page on our website.

In line with Kent Sport’s strategy, the VC’s Cup aims to help change behaviours and attitudes towards physical activity, allowing staff to lead active, healthy, and enriched lives whilst working at Kent.

How can I get involved?

If you would like to participate in the VC’s Cup for 2023/24, please complete the registration form. New this year is the Vice Chancellor’s team, which will be made up of individual players who are not assigned to a departmental team. So if your department isn’t forming a team, you can still get involved!

Please note all players must have a minimum Pay to Play Kent Sport membership, there is no cost to participate in any VC Cup event. Create your free account online: www.kent.ac.uk/sports/memberships

We look forward to seeing you at the next Vice Chancellor’s Cup, with the first event, ‘It’s a Knock Out’, kicking off in November 2023.
