The Psychology Society is running a careers event open to all students. Hear from a panel of 5 alumni from the School of Psychology, as well as Emma Travers-Hill, School of Psychology Lecturer and Clinical Psychologist. With the opportunity to ask the speakers questions at the end of the event.

The speakers for the event are:

Emma Travers-Hill

I started out my career in clinical research and following my PhD went onto my Clinical Doctorate.  Since qualifying I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist in secondary care adult mental health services. More recently, I have been working at the University as a lecturer and have been setting up an honorary contract with the NHS to continue a little clinical work locally.

Daniela Zigova

My name is Daniela Zigova and I graduated from University of Kent in 2018 with a degree in Psychology. After graduating, I spent some time volunteering and landed my first job in primary mental health services for adults in Kent. I am currently working as a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner in an IAPT service in Bromley, where I provide CBT-based psychological interventions to adults with depression and anxiety disorders.

Emma Bannister

I have been working as a Research Officer at the Office for National Statistics (ONS) for just over a year. I am also badged to the Government Social Research (GSR) profession which is one of 8 professions in the Government Analysis Function. Currently I am working in data collection however Research Officers at the ONS can work in a variety of roles including production of statistics, conducting qualitative research and using admin data.

Alexandria Olton

Alexandria Olton is a qualified Sport and Exercise psychologist, the Director of Mindology Trinidad and sport columnist for The Trinidad and Tobago Newsday. Alexandria works with a wide range of clients from Olympic level athletes to juniors and grassroots, in developing positive mental skills and achieving optimal performance.

Sarah Sodimu

I’m Sarah and I work as an Assistant Psychologist in Paediatric Psychology and am doing my masters in Research in Clinical Psychology.

Kyle Sherry

After graduating from the University of Kent in 2018, I pursued a Master’s degree in Occupational Psychology. The content of this course, paired with my undergraduate degree, led me into a Change Management role within a local government setting. From here I moved into the Civil Service, where I currently work as an Insight & Service Design Manager at the Health & Safety Executive.

Annie Hastings

My name is Annie Hastings, I am a mental health adviser with Mind, the mental health charity. I have experience working in the mental health sector in both charitable organisations and within the NHS. I aim to further my career focusing on mental health and forensic psychology.
