NHS Student Placement Scheme

HEE’s Graduate and Student Placement Scheme 2020

The NHS belongs to the people and is founded on a common set of principles and values that bind together the communities and people it serves – patients and public – and the staff who work for it.

HEE’s values are those of the NHS Constitution. They are:

  • Working together for patients
  • Compassion
  • Respect and dignity
  • Improving lives
  • Commitment to quality of care
  • Everyone counts

Health Education England (HEE) exists for one reason only: to support the delivery of excellent healthcare and health improvement to the patients and public of England by ensuring that the workforce of today and tomorrow has the right numbers, skills, values and behaviours, at the right time and in the right place.

Here at HEE, we believe that the most important resource the NHS has is its people. Without a skilled workforce, there is no NHS. There are few careers that are as rewarding as one in the NHS, or that give you the opportunity to work with such a variety of people. Everyone can make a difference to patients.

HEE is made up of 7 regions spread across the country, these are North East and Yorkshire, North West, London, South East, South West, Midlands and East of England. We also have a National team which are responsible for different functions, including Innovation & Transformation, People & Communications, Finance, Workforce Planning & Intelligence and Strategy.
