Hear from Human & Social Sciences alumni who will be sharing their advice, tips and experience with students looking to pursue careers in Banking & Finance.
You will gain first-hand information and practical advice on various careers paths within the sector. Our alumni will also share invaluable career tips through open, honest dialogue with the students who attend.

Tapasya – Graduate Programme – Bank of England
(School of Economics alumna)
Tapasya graduated in 2021 with Financial Economics with a Year in Industry where she undertook her placement in risk management at Lloyds Banking Group. This was followed by a penultimate year internship at the Bank of England where she’s currently on their graduate scheme. She also undertook a civil service fast stream economist summer placement at the ONS in labour productivity before starting her graduate role at the Bank.
Luke – Wealth Manager – Barclays Wealth Management
(School of Psychology alumnus)
Luke graduated from the University of Kent in 2009 with a First Class degree in Psychology. After working in the pension industry for 4 years Luke qualified as a financial advisor and joined Barclays Wealth as a Private Banking Executive. In 2017 Luke was promoted to the Wealth Manager role to give financial and investment advice to high-net-worth clients. Today he advises on over £100m of client assets.
Daven – Venture Capital Investor – REV Venture Partners

Daven started his career as a Management Consultant with PwC, working across the Capital Markets and Financial Services sectors. He is now an investor at REV Venture Partners, a global venture capital partnership that specialises in industry re-invention through data and analytics, and has deployed over $250m of capital since 2000.
Paul – Director – Natwest
(School of Economics alumni)
After graduating from Kent in 2008 with a BSc in Economics, Paul joined RBS Group (now NatWest Group) in September 2008 just prior to the onset of the financial crisis. Paul has been at NatWest for over 13 years, primarily working with Corporate and Commercial sized businesses with a particular focus now on technology based mid-market companies. Paul has mentored many colleagues in recent years supporting their career development within NatWest Group and outside. He is also currently being sponsored by the Bank to complete a MSc in Leadership & Management at Cranfield University.
