If you are interested in learning more about the Year in Industry programme with the School of Economics, Dr Penelope Pacheco-Lopez will be holding a talk on the programme. She will provide information on what to expect from a placement year, the support available and what you should be doing now to ensure you are successful in applying for a placement next year. This talk is for all students, whether you are registered for the Year in Industry programme or not.

Applications are invited to join Disney for a 12 month work placement at their London office. Professional internship opportunities available in a variety of fields.
- L’Oréal Internship & Apprenticeship Programs – applications open!
Opportunities available for Industrial Placements, Summer Internships and the week-long Spring Insight Program for first-year undergraduates.
- MUFG Banking Careers Insight Days for BAME and Female Students
Two upcoming events aimed at BAME and female students interested in beginning a career in investment banking.
- The Civil Service Fast Stream application deadline is Thursday 21st October at Noon
The Civil Service Fast Stream is an accelerated career path to leadership designed to accelerate progression to the most senior Civil Service roles.
- Pfizer Undergraduate Placements – application deadline 31st October
Pfizer currently have a variety of undergraduate roles live on their website commencing September 2022. Non-lab based roles are still open for application and will close 31st October 2021.
Students need to complete a Pfizer application form to apply.

- Deloitte Insight Day – Economic Advisory 4th November
Are you interested in using economic theory and analytical thinking to solve everyday business and policy issues? Economic Advisory is looking for graduates in Economics (Master’s/PhD) for graduate positions and 3rd year undergraduate students for internships in the London and Cambridge offices.

To provide an overview of Emotional Intelligence and how it underpins personal effectiveness.
- StudyPlus – Introduction to Management – Tuesday 19th October – 11am – 12.30pm
Understand the need to manage yourself, the team, and the task! Examine your own personality style and how you may manage. Explore Problem Solving and Decision-Making tools.
- StudyPlus – Presentation Skills – Tuesday 19th October – 1pm – 2.30pm
Examine presentation fears and learn strategies to overcome them.
- StudyPlus – Start up Journey – Wednesday 20th October – 2pm – 4pm (This event will be in person on the Canterbury Campus as well as being virtual)
Be inspired at the launch of this year’s Business Start-Up Journey when we welcome Shannie Mears, co-founder and Head of Talent at Elephant Room, a leading creative company dedicated to increasing diversity in advertising. Shannie, who trained as a dancer, will be talking about her incredible journey from intern to entrepreneur. One of Management Today’s 35 under 35 she was also named in BIMA’s top 100 talents of 2018 and has worked with brands including Addidas and Britvic, been Brand and Talent Manager for GUAP magazine, founded the Guestlist and hosts her own events encouraging young women to connect as a part of Girls Talk London, called Girls, let’s talk.
At the launch you also will learn more about the University’s flagship student start-up programme, meet the ASPIRE’s team of experts who are here to support you and hear from student entrepreneurs who have started their own businesses.

Overall objective – To introduce the concept of positive personal presence and impact and how it can benefit career development.
