It’s A Wonderful Life Screening at the Gulbenkian Cinema on the 15th of December

Posted by Sarah,

A quick reminder that the Gulbenkian Cinema is screening the Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life (1946) this Sunday, the 15th of December at 2.30 pm.

wonderful life

Some of the group might well be there to enjoy the dramatic ups and downs (or downs and ups) in preparation for the festive season.

The Gulbenkian Cinema’s blurb on Capra’s film:

Oscar winning director Frank Capra’s (It Happened One Night) profoundly charming film casts Jimmy Stewart (Rear Window) as everyman George Bailey, who is on the brink of suicide when his guardian angel (Henry Travers) visits and shows him what the world would have been like had he never existed.

Set on Christmas Eve, this very touching, very romantic reverse-Scrooge fable is a seasonal classic; the perfect big-screen outing over the holiday period.

“A genuine American classic.” Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
