Kent Union and the University run a joint award scheme which recognises the time you spend volunteering hours (which you log through the Toolkit) to achieve various levels of certification, from Bronze to Platinum. This can then be included as part of your CV to demonstrate your commitment to volunteering and extra-curricular activities.
Volunteering hours that can be logged for the KSCV can cover a wide variety of activities: time spent running student societies and sports clubs, attending training sessions, undertaking volunteering opportunities – essentially anything except paid work. The KSCV is recognised by most employers as a sign of students’ dedication to volunteering and using their free time to get involved and apply their skills.
