Outdoor exercise for all, for free!

Welcome to our brand-new and exciting boot camp-style group exercise class; Boot Campus!

Whether you’re a regular fitness enthusiast or a newcomer to the world of exercise, this new class is designed to accommodate all ability levels, making it the perfect place to kickstart your fitness journey. Each Boot Campus session is just 30 minutes offering an express lunchtime session for those short on time or energy.  Participants are welcome to book in for both 30-minute sessions should you wish to train for a full hour.

Our expert trainers are here to guide you through a warm-up followed by a variety of cardiovascular, resistance, balance, and agility exercises utilising your own bodyweight and the unique environment and landscape of central campus, while also enjoying the fresh air and the elements on the day!

No need to worry about keeping up or feeling out of place—our classes are structured to be adaptable, with modifications for every exercise. Whether you’re looking to push your limits or take a more measured approach, Boot Campus is your playground for achieving your fitness goals while exercising outdoors.

Boot Campus is a free 30-minute class for everyone in the University community.

 

The first Boot Campus session will take place on Wednesday 1 November, book your space online now!

 

Boot Campus will take place on the first Wednesday of each month:

  • Round #1 – Wednesday 1 November 2023 – Session A at 12.30pm / Session B at 1pm
  • Round #2 – Wednesday 6 December 2023 – 12.30pm and 1pm
  • Round #3 – Wednesday 3 January 2024 – 12.30pm and 1pm

 

Where Boot Campus will take place:

Once you have booked your space, meet Kent Sport staff at the ‘Tensegritree Sculpture’ (large metal tree sculpture) outside the Marlowe Building on central campus ready to go. Please arrive no later than five minutes before the class start time. Late entry will not be permitted.

In the event of (really) bad weather, Boot Campus will move indoors to the Eliot dining hall. Those booked onto the sessions on the day will be contacted via email about the location change. The session will remain outdoors in most weathers so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing accordingly.

What you will need:

You will need suitable footwear (trainers) and training clothing (shorts/trousers and t-shirt/tracksuit) will be required as a minimum. A water bottle and sweat towel are advisable. All equipment required for the class will be provided by the class instructor. The session will remain outdoors in most weathers so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing accordingly.

Membership:

All participants will need to have a Kent Sport membership to join Boot Campus events. If you are not currently a member, you can create a free Pay to Play membership and join Boot Campus events for free. View Kent Sport membership options.

Booking guidance:

Boot Campus is free for everyone to attend but must be booked in advance through your online account. If you don’t have a Kent Sport account, you can create an account for free online quickly and easily.

Guidance on using the Kent Sport booking system can be found on our blog. When you arrive, please make sure you sign in with the class instructor. If you have booked Bootcampus but can no longer attend, make sure you cancel your space through your online account. This allows another member to join the class.

There are 40 bookable spaces available for each Boot Campus event.
