The Estates Department will begin the annual coppicing programme in Bluebell Woods, just south of the Venue on Monday 10th November, for a period of about 4 weeks.

This is in line with our Woodland Management plan that is part of the Estates Department ISO 14001 accreditation for biodiversity. The work will encourage a more diverse habitat for both woodland plants and insects as well as enhance the area for birds, animals and humans alike.

We will re-coppice old stools and leave some standard trees such as oak, beech and hornbeam standing to mature more over time.

There may well be times when the footpath through the woods will be closed for safety reasons, but we will keep everyone updated through the Estates Helpdesk service disruption notices.
