Automatic increments will be paid!

The University has agreed to fulfil its contractual obligations and pay 1,500 staff their automatic increments at the end of October. This is thanks to collective ‘rejection’ of the pay freeze proposal from all the campus unions and staff reps.

Whilst this isn’t a complete victory, as other areas of the pay freeze are being implemented by the University (such as no discretionary increments, a promotions pay freeze, and a deferred national pay award until July 2024) UCU are pleased that our hard work has been effective, and staff have shown mass solidarity with each other in winning a pay increase for 1,500 staff.
