Online Subject Resources
There are a vast number of sites with material of interest to medicine and health sciences students; the individual sites below are a very small selection of what is available. Most of the resources below are freely available on the internet. In addition, the Library subscribes to a vast range of e-resources: see other pages within this guide for subscription e-books, bibliographic databases, and online reference works.

- HON (Health On the Net): not for profit international Swiss initiative to make quality guidance about medical treatments and health information available to patients and public
- Healthfinder: US Government version of HON
- Martindale’s Virtual Nursing Center: index of internet nursing resources
- Medscape Today: registration required (free) for extra features
- NLH (National Library for Health): the NHS electronic library provides NHS staff with the essential information resources needed to carry out their work, and is part of a further drive by the health service to support professional development
- RXList: internet drug index
- WWW – Medicine & Health Virtual Library: internet directory
- WWW – Pharmacy Virtual Library: directory of pharmaceutical resources
