Canterbury University Film Festival

Canterbury University Film Festival is running for its third year in 2017 and we are accepting student submissions from UCA, CCCU & UKC.

Deadline for submissions is the 3rd of February and students can submit for free with the code CUFF2017.

More information about the festival:

Thanks to the many film and art related institutions in Canterbury, the city is home to a vibrant community of young and talented filmmakers. Student film crews are constantly creating new and innovative works which often go unseen by the public. Canterbury University Film Festival (CUFF) aims to provide a platform for these works to be viewed and appreciated. The submissions are opened to students from University of Kent, Canterbury Christ Church University and University for the Creative Arts – as we see it as important that three Universities have a greater sense of unity in celebrating their students work.

The best short films will be selected and screened at the festival. This two day event will take place on the 18th & 19th of March 2017; the first day consisting of an opening ceremony and half of the films being screened and the second day consisting of a screening of the rest of the films, followed by an award ceremony where award winners will be announced. This will be followed by a after-party. As part of the festival, there will be ‘Off The CUFF’ events which will consist of debates, workshops and other activities.
The diverse talent in the three universities is always inspiring and we look forward to see more examples of that talent this year.

£250 for the full course – BOOK A PLACE

In this five-day workshop, designed for professional and semi-professional performers, participants will immerse themselves in Theatre Re’s vital approach to Corporeal Mime and explore the ability to change and transform.

Following the work of Etienne Decroux and his successors, participants will discover how to follow an impulse and how to give thoughts and emotions a physical and theatrical form, structure and rhythm.

Guillaume Pigé is an actor, director, mime and magician. He formed Theatre Re in 2009 and is an Associate Teacher at R.A.D.A. He is regularly invited to give workshops in the UK and internationally. Apart from directing and performing in all Theatre Re’s productions to date, Guillaume worked as a Movement Director with Andrew Visnevski, Sue Dunderdale and Bill Gaskill.
