Duty officer takes coaching skills across the pond

Darran Walter, Duty Officer for Kent Sport, has recently put his coaching skills to the test in the good ol’ USA.

Kent Football Club’s head coach visited Atlanta, Georgia as he helped mold and shape future football stars at the International Soccer Camp in the United States.

Darran worked with both Chievo Verona from Serie A and West Ham United from the Premier League as they conducted their International Academy selection process in a bid to discover and nurture the talents on the other side of the Atlantic.

Darran said: “Specialising in the younger ages and working specifically on principles of defending and technical development was a huge challenge. But it’s something that I thrive on.”

As he continues his coaching education, Darran has recently started his UEFA B Licence qualification. We’re happy to report that Darran survived 40C heat and 90% humidity, which, fortunately, didn’t get the better of him!
