To assist members in using the fantastic new equipment in the fitness suite and to better understand training principles, Kent Sport are providing fitness training seminars. This series of seminars entail a weekly group presentation and demonstration of a specific topic related to fitness training.
These seminars are open to all Kent Sport members and our aim is to help you learn new skills, improve technique and realise the benefits of effective fitness training.
The topics covered are:
Cardiovascular and Heart Rate training
18 October, 11am, in the Sports Centre studio.
Learn how to use your heart rate as a training tool and understand the fundamental principles of cardiovascular training. This session will include a spinning case study.
Strength Training for Women 25 October, 2pm, in the Pit area of the Fitness Suite. This seminar is for women only to learn some basic strength training movements. Improve your lifting technique and learn how to set goals.
TRX Suspension System and using the Octogan Bodyweight Cage 8 November, 3pm in the strength and Conditioning area of the fitness suite. This seminar looks at functional bodyweight training. Learn how to utilise suspension and octagon training and implement it into your workout.
Kettle Bells and Power Bags Saturday 16 November at 3pm in the functional training area of the fitness suite. Learn how to implement Kettle bell and Power bag training into your workout.
Human Sport Cable Stations Sunday 1st December 2013 at 2pm in the Fitness Suite reception area. Learn how to implement the Human Sport Cable machines in to your training with multi directional movements.
Please check notices on Facebook (UniKentSports) and in the fitness suite for exact times and dates and turn up on the day. These seminars are free to Gold and Silver members. All others can participate with Bronze pay-per-activity for entry to the fitness suite with the seminar included.
