The Summary report of the Kent Business Summit 2019 hosted by Kent Business School is now available to read online.
The Summit was organised in partnership with the Federation of Small Businesses, Institute of Directors and Locate in Kent. Over 350 delegates from the regional business community, local government and County educational institutions took part to discuss working together in ensuring sustainable economic growth for Kent.
Plenary presentations followed by 15 round table discussions focused on priority areas for the County including; transport infrastructure, placemaking, innovation & productivity and skills development.
The round tables were asked to identify 3 priority areas related to their topic of discussion, as well as 5 actions to be taken in the year to come. The outcomes of these discussions have been summarised in the Kent Business Summit report, which will serve as a reference document for stakeholders involved in the continuing economic development of Kent.
Smarter use of technology, the need for integrated planning, embracing the creative industries, more knowledge sharing and a focus on sustainable solutions were some of the suggestions translated into concrete actions for 2019.
Next year’s Kent Business Summit will take place on Friday 10 January, once again at the Business School’s Sibson building. The Summit partners are currently building the 2020 agenda, which will build on the report and results achieved, and seek to inspire through a panel of nationally and internationally renowned speakers.
