10 month fixed term contract: 1 November 2023 to 31 August 2024
Full time (average of 40 hours per week including some evening and weekend work)
Salary: c.£25,000 pa
The role: Harrow’s Drama and Theatre department stages an ambitious and diverse range of productions and events across the year. The theatre production team comprises a core group of staff working flexibly and supportively to deliver the programme. We are now seeking a Theatre Production Assistant to join this team for a fixed-term period until August 2024. Although it is expected that the postholder will bring some experience in one or more areas of theatre production, they will also work to support different elements of the production process, and appropriate training will be provided as required. The role will therefore provide the opportunity for the postholder to develop their experience and skillset within a busy, creative and supportive environment. In this varied role, the postholder will also be involved in instructing, mentoring and supervising pupils.
The skills: This role may provide a great opportunity for a recent graduate or someone who is keen to build their experience by immersing themselves in all aspects of a thriving, professional theatre. Previous experience within an arts or education environment would be desirable, but above all we are looking for a proactive, positive team player, who will relish the challenge of wide-ranging involvement with a dynamic and busy department.
The environment: Harrow School is situated within a beautiful site in Harrow on the Hill, northwest London, and is one of the best-known schools in the world, with around 835 boys studying at Harrow. The School’s 300-seat Ryan Theatre is equipped to industry standard, and has a national reputation for its drama projects and community engagement.
The benefits include:
- Free lunch.
- Free parking.
- Automatic enrolment in the School’s pension scheme.
- Use of the School’s sports facilities such as the swimming pool, gym, and running track.
- Subsidised membership of the tennis, golf, angling and social clubs.
