The University of Kent’s Language Centre invited you to an exciting series of free workshops to
- Discover Chinese culture through hands-on experiences.
- Explore the differences between East and West, Chinese social media trends, and the contrast between old and modern China.
- Learn the evolution of the Chinese characters and try the traditional pen-brush writing, and more.
Every Wednesday afternoons at 4-5pm.
No prior knowledge of Chinese required. Led by Miss Xinxin Zhao, the Centre’s visiting Mandarin scholar.

Are you interested in teaching English in Japan? Two alumni of Kent who are currently working in Japan as an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) on the JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) programme will give us an online talk about their experiences. Please join us to get valuable information for your future career. Note: You don’t require Japanese language skills to apply to the JET programme.
