Who we are:
The National Trust is the largest conservation charity in Europe, supported by around 45,000 volunteers nationally and 14,000 in London and the South East.
Combining medieval moated castle, Victorian mansion house, gardens, estate, hop farm, and SSSI in one property, Scotney Castle has over 600 years of history. It has one of the largest National
Trust collections, including textiles and dress, ceramics, paintings and books.
Every year we welcome around 125,000 visitors to Scotney Castle.
What we need:
We are looking for volunteers who enjoy interacting with other people, have great communication skills, are friendly and willing to learn new skills.
You are looking for a volunteering opportunity where you can really make a difference.
You want to be part of an enthusiastic team.
You might be wanting to spend time in a fabulous house, jam-packed with history!
You may be looking towards a career in history, heritage, travel & tourism, conservation, museums, architecture, landscape architecture, gardens or art history.
You could be welcoming visitors to the property, either in the car park or at visitor reception.
You could be helping inside the house, talking with visitors and learning about the collection.
You may be in the garden helping visitors find their way around and talking with them
What we offer:

An excellent opportunity to build sector specific knowledge & experience.
We will provide full training and all necessary PPE.
We can help towards travelling costs.
When you have completed 50 hours of volunteering, you will receive a card giving you 20% discount in the café and shop as well as free entry to ALL National Trust properties around the country.
Due to our location, students will need to be able to drive or have access to a lift.
