Do you write? Would you like to write a play but just don’t know where to begin?
Freedom Studios are hosting our FREE 8 week ‘Introduction to Playwriting Course’ again this Summer and we would love to hear from creative writers who would like to have a first go at playwriting. Interested applicants must be 18 or over with little or no experience of writing for theatre (the screen or the stage). As a Bradford based theatre company we welcome applications from writers based in Bradford and the West Yorkshire area.
In this 8-week course, we’ll be focusing on the basics of theatre writing including; character, story, structure, plot development, writing realistic dialogue and theatricality.
The course will be run by writer Lisa Holdsworth, a BAFTA-nominated television writer who has also written several acclaimed theatre productions, as well as being Chair of the Writers Guild.

When: The sessions will run via Zoom on Mondays 7-9pm on the following dates –
6th, 13th, 20st and 27th June and 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th July 2021. The last session will be a sharing of work.
