In 2012, Lucius was created. The central issue for this film was research on betrothal of girls as early as 7 years old with a view to marriage when they were 12 years old. The framework is a day in the life of ancient Rome – where did you go and at what time? who did you meet? what did you eat and drink? In just 6 minutes, the film conjures up a world of apartment blocks, fires, markets, baths, and rituals.   The animators at Cognitive created Lucius’ marvellously austere father (pater familias). The film ends with the viewer having to consider: what is Lucius’ future as an adult in the Roman Empire?
