50th Festival guest lecture on 40 years of ‘legal mis-education’

Kent alumni, staff, students and members of the local community are warmly invited to attend a special guest lecture to be delivered by two of Kent Law School’s Emeritus Professors, Steve Uglow and Wade Mansell, on Saturday 5 September.

The joint lecture is being held as part of the University’s 50th Festival, a weekend of celebrations marking the end of the University’s 50th anniversary year. Professors Uglow and Mansell will be reflecting back on their many and varied experiences of teaching law students at Kent for their joint lecture ‘Per incuriam: looking back on 40 years of legal mis-education’.

The lecture will be held in Eliot Lecture Theatre 2 (ELT2) from 4pm – 5pm with an informal drinks reception to follow in ELT foyer from 5pm – 6pm. The drinks reception offers an opportunity to chat with Law School staff, students and alumni and to browse a display of photographs charting the development of the Law School. The University will also be hosting a number of additional events throughout the weekend, including a Cathedral Celebration, gala dinners and a party in The Venue – more information is available online in the 50th Festival programme. Alumni who are planning to attend are invited to register online.
