Vice Chancellor’s Cup highlights: Olympics

All 15 VC's Cup teams participated in the VC's Cup Olympics, a special edition to the calendar reflecting the Olympic year.

Get ready for the ultimate showdown! The VC Cup Olympics was an action-packed event organised by the Sports Development team, featuring a range of old-school sports day activities that brought out the inner child in the staff members.

Day 1 kicked off with a bang at the Kent Indoor Tennis and Events Arena (KITEA), where teams battled it out in thrilling races like the egg and spoon race, bean bag on the head race, space hopper race, and an epic medley race that combined all four activities. The space hopper race delivered hilarious moments as staff members hilariously struggled to stay coordinated. The excitement continued with a daring javelin competition that saw RISistence is Futile taking an early lead with 52 points, followed by Infomaniacs and Marlowe’s Marauders. DoNATS also recorded the longest javelin throw, providing an entertaining highlight to the day. In a stunning twist, Campus Sporting Exploits swooped in and secured victory with 53 points in the second hour, leaving everyone on the edge of their seats.

Day 2 brought perfect weather for the showdown to heat up on the 3G pitch at the Sports Pavilion. Sack races, three-legged races, noughts and crosses races, and a fierce tug-o-war kept everyone on the edge of their seats. RISistence is Futile ultimately emerged as the exhilarating overall winner with 81 points, narrowly edging out Infomaniacs and Marlowe’s Marauders.

The VC Cup Olympics was a whirlwind of fun and competition, showcasing the staff’s incredible teamwork and spirit. Congratulations to RISistence is Futile for their well-deserved victory!
