Tennis coaching – day two!

Aspiring tennis coaches complete day two of their LTA qualification

Kent Sport Tennis ran the second day of their female-only LTA level 1 qualification last Sunday. The training was held at the Kent Indoor Tennis and Events Arena and comprised of 11 students and staff.

The aim of the training is to equip this fantastic group of aspiring coaches with the knowledge and skill to bring exercise, fun, and learning to many people going forward. They are developing new friendships and opportunities for improved mental and physical well-being, generated through the art of tennis.

Currently, there is a split of roughly 3:1 male to female coaches in England, leading the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to tackle the inequality and work towards creating a more diverse coaching workforce.

At Kent Sport we have big plans to develop Tennis both on-site, in our fantastic 4-court indoor tennis and events arena, but also by taking tennis into the community and delivering lessons to local schools, providing top-class coaches to local tennis clubs, and providing places to play.
