Kent Sport running groups

Want to get out running? We have groups that suit everyone!

Kent Sport runs a variety of running sessions as part of our ALL Active programme. Why not dust off those old trainers and get back to running. Whether you’re just starting out or a confident runner, we have adapted our sessions to suit everyone.

Beginners’ Running (Couch To 5K)

Our 10-week Couch to 5k program is perfect for those just starting out and will get you comfortably running each week, leading up to a 30 minutes run (approx. 5km) in just 10 weeks. This relaxed and sociable session requires no experience, just a pair of trainers and a sense of humour. Our experienced staff will support you every step of the way and before you know it, you’ll be confident to hit the roads on your own.

Where: Meet at the Sports Centre reception

When: Every Thursday from 12pm to 1pm. Starting Thursday 19th January 2023

Cost: FREE for Premium Plus members, £2 for Premium, Plus, and Pay-to-Play members.

Booking: Booking is essential at https://kentsport.kent.ac.uk/lhweb/en/members/home. To book a running session, select ‘classes’ and then ‘activity’. In the dropdown menu, select ‘Couch to 5K’.

Booking for Couch To 5K will open one week before the first session. Please email sportsdevelopment@kent.ac.uk to be added to our running mailing list and we will contact you with a booking reminder before the first session.

Session Notes

Please note the 60-minute sessions include warm up, cool down and stretches, therefore you won’t be active the whole time.

Comfy clothing and footwear advisable.

All sessions are led by our motivated and enthusiastic ALL Active staff.
