On a thrilling last day of the season, a dramatic late winner saw Turing retain their status as league champions.
The Inter College Football League once again proved to be the pinnacle of intra-mural sport on campus, with a fantastic season of twists and turns. Eliot stormed ahead in the title race, winning all of their first seven games. However, after a strong transfer window, the momentum swung in Park Wood FC and Turing’s favour. The two sides were neck and neck right until the final minutes of the season, with Turing’s superior goal difference being the difference between the two sides.
In mid table, Keynes enjoyed a solid season, winning 7 out of their 14 games. Rutherford and Darwin contested a battle for 5th place, with Rutherford winning the race by one point. Woolf had an improved season from last year while Park Wood United put up a good fight but struggled at the bottom of the table.
Striker Thomas Eynaud (Turing), stormed to the golden boot with his 25 goals four more than Gordon Broni (Eliot). Manu Barath also had a great season, recording 20 goals. Ben Tatam (Turing) finished the league’s top assister 17 assists to his name. Leo Reddi (Turing) won the golden glove with 4 clean sheets.
The Inter College Football League (ICFL) is open to all University of Kent Students except those playing for Kent FC. A student’s college affiliation is assigned based on the accommodation they live in during their first year of study. For more details please visit the ICFL webpage.
