The VC Cup Garden Games 2025

Over two glorious days of friendly competition and summer sun, teams gathered for our much-anticipated Garden Games Tournament — a light-hearted but fiercely contested event filled with laughter, lawn games, and one surprisingly long lasting Jenga game.

The first day kicked off with classic garden game madness, including games such as Giant Jenga, Petanque, Ladder Golf and Cornhole. All teams were able to try out our very own Petanque court, located in front of the Gulbenkian, which sparked some tense moments between teams when the measuring rope was brought out to dictate the winers of the round. Giant Jenga is a classic game of nerves and steadiness, where two teams managed to hold the uneasy fortress for over ten minutes. Next on the itinerary were Ladder Gold and Cornhole, both requiring accuracy and balanced arms to earn points.

On Day Two, the intensity picked up as teams faced off in Bat and Trap, Molkky, Spikeball and Kubb. Players enjoyed the technicality and accuracy that came along with Bat and Trap, as the aim of the game was to knock down their oppositions target. Similarly, in the Swedish game Kubb, teams had to strategically knock over each other’s Kubb’s before conquering the King. Molkky is a game of wits, where teams had to knock down numbered pillars to score a total of 50, but going over 50 meant being knocked down to 25. It lead to players putting on their thinking caps and becoming strategic in their plays. Last but not least, Spikeball is a game of quick reactions. Both teams stand around a small netted trampoline, and spike the ball down to the opposite player. The first team to drop the ball loses the around. It kept our teams light on their hands and toes.

After the two intense days of garden games, a massive congratulations to our top three teams;
