ICFL Cup Final (2025) Report

With the Inter College Football League concluding in March, all focus turned to the cup competition in the summer term. A penalty shootout win against Woolf in the quarter-finals and a nervy 2-1 win against Darwin in the last four paved the way for league winners Turing to progress to the final. Meanwhile, on the other side of the draw, Park Wood FC triumphed over Keynes Athletic and Eliot to book their place in the final. With Turing FC eyeing a historic double, Parkwood arrived intent on crashing their party.

In a tense opening ten minutes, both teams struggled to create any meaningful chances. Turing broke the deadlock with a calm finish from striker Thomas and settled the league winners’ nerves. With Parkwood deflated, Turing made their pressure count with three quick goals, making it 4-0 by the half-hour mark. These goals included a coolly taken penalty following a push in the penalty area from a Parkwood defender. However, the fourth goal sparked a reaction from the losing side, with two goals before half-time getting them back in the game.

The start of the second half was closely fought, with both sets of midfielders battling to seize control of the game. Turing extended their lead to 5-2 midway through the second half, but Parkwood hit back almost instantly with a great free kick goal. Turing eased any nerves with two further goals from Thomas, making it 6-3. The final whistle blew soon after, with Turing crowned cup champions and clinching the 2024/25 season double! Congratulations to Turing on this achievement.
