Vice-Chancellor’s Cup Highlights: Sports Day

Our annual Vc Cup Sports Day returned with a bang — and this year, it was bigger and better than ever! Spread across two action-packed days, the event was a perfect mix of classic sports day favourites and quirky challenges, bringing out the competitive spirit (and plenty of laughs) from everyone involved.

Day One set the tone with high-energy relays that had both participants and spectators cheering from start to finish. We kicked things off with the ever-challenging egg and spoon race, followed by the baton relay, three-legged race, and the tricky but hilarious bean bag balance on head race. The field events added some real power to the day with a round of shotput, all building up to an epic finale — the tug of war, where teams gave it everything they had in a show of sheer grit and teamwork.

On Day Two, the competition continued with a mix of skill-based and fun-focused events. Participants tackled a hockey obstacle course with speed and precision, launched foam projectiles in the javelin, and got creative with a unique twist on playground fun — the hula hoop hopscotch rock-paper-scissors race (yes, it’s was as wild as it sounds!). We wrapped up with indoor crowd-pleasers like curling, cornhole, and a test of endurance and coordination in hula hooping.

Every event brought out laughter, camaraderie, and just the right amount of healthy rivalry. Whether teams were chasing victory or just aiming to stay upright during a three-legged race, the spirit of sportsmanship was front and centre.

And now, let’s celebrate our champions of this unforgettable Sports Day:

1st Place: Infomaniacs
2nd Place: RISitence is Futile
3rd Place: Campus Sporting Exploits
