In an exhilarating clash between the Old Boys and ISOC, two standout players, Tathagat and Bernard, stole the show with their impressive performances, each scoring two goals to secure a memorable win (4-2). The match was marked by the Old Boys’ effective utilisation of their counter-attacking formation, resulting in two goals from corner kicks. However, the game also witnessed a few setbacks, including the Old Boys’ captain (Mohammed Ali) walking off due to injury. However, their goalkeeper came to the rescue by saving a penalty, preserving their advantage and contributing to their ultimate victory. 

This strategic decision proved fruitful as they capitalised on two well-executed corner kicks, with both Tathagat and Bernard finding the back of the net, boosting their team’s lead. 

William Kyaw delivered an outstanding performance, netting two goals and leaving a lasting impact on the game. His exceptional goal-scoring ability was on full display as he found the back of the net twice with precision and skill. With his impressive contributions, Kyaw proved to be a key player for his team, showcasing his talent and making a significant impact on the match. 

UKC Thunder V Classic XI 

UKC Thunder, another team in action, experienced its fair share of ups and downs. Chris Sharp made significant defensive contributions and Joe Lovick’s performance earned high praise, with Ben Malone (UKC Captain) describing it as “magical” and a “amazing control of the ball.” 

Despite the challenges faced by UKC Thunder, Lucas Wright managed to maintain control and stability for the team, ensuring they remained competitive throughout the game.  Ezekiel, known for his goal-scoring prowess, delivered an outstanding performance by netting a hat-trick, further solidifying his position as the team’s top scorer. 

The game was regarded as “interesting” by Joshua Pedro, reflecting the captivating nature of the match that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats. The intensity on the field was palpable, with both teams engaging in an intense battle, as pointed out by Lucas Wright. 

 

In a commanding performance, Classic XI emerged triumphant with a resounding 5-2 victory over UKC Thunder. Right from the kick-off, Classic XI showcased their attacking prowess and tactical brilliance, leaving their opponents struggling to keep up. With a relentless offensive display, Classic XI found the back of the net on multiple occasions, displaying their clinical finishing skills. Despite UKC Thunder’s efforts to mount a comeback, Classic XI’s solid defence held firm, denying them any significant breakthroughs. The final score line of 5-2 reflected Classic XI’s dominant performance and highlighted their ability to control the game from start to finish. 

 

To add to the spectacle, the pleasant weather provided an ideal backdrop for the players and spectators, enhancing the overall experience and contributing to the enjoyment of the game.
