The new committee members of Kent Business Society will be launching their 2017/18 events calendar this week with a LinkedIn Workshop.
What is Kent Business Society?
Kent Business Society is a student-led academic society aimed at improving the employability of its members by enabling them to network with business professionals. It is led by Kent Business School at Canterbury students in their second and third-year from across a wide range of degrees. The society not only improves students’ employability but also enhances their university life and studies.
Why join Kent Business Society?
If you are an undergraduate Kent Business School student then membership is free via the Kent Union website. If not, you are welcome to attend events without requiring membership. Kent Business Society will allow you to grow throughout your time at University, and support you in your preparation for internships, placement and graduate opportunities.
What events do Kent Business Society hold?
Throughout the academic year, the society will hold workshops ranging from CV writing to making the most of LinkedIn and how to handle video interviews and Assessment Centres. These workshops will be run by students, academic staff and recruitment professionals. There will also be a range of engaging talks and events with entrepreneurs and businesses. This will be a chance for students to gain an insight into how they started their businesses and also ask any questions they may have. In previous years, the Business Society have held events with Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and The Business Start-Up Journey and plan to do even more this year. The best way to stay up-to-date is by liking their Facebook page.
