What is a Masters Degree?
A Masters degree is a postgraduate degree which can be awarded following a taught course or on a research basis. Taught courses follow a similar structure to undergraduate degrees, usually over one year of full-time study or two years part-time. The taught programmes offered at Kent Business School involve seminars, lectures, coursework, exams and a dissertation or research project.
Why should you do a Masters Degree?
A professional postgraduate qualification is essential for some careers. If you choose postgraduate study you will need to enjoy and be interested in the subject to keep yourself motivated.
Who can do postgraduate study?
You don’t have to have a first to go into postgraduate study (although it will help, especially in getting funding). A good 2.1 is usually expected. However, people with lower grades, including 2.2s, are also accepted onto postgraduate courses, especially if you have obtained better results in modules relevant to the postgraduate course than in your degree overall. For more information you can find entry requirements for specific courses on the online prospectus.
What funding is available to me?
Kent Business School offer many funding opportunities to it’s postgraduate students including scholarships, bursaries and discounts.
